Additional Job Description: West Virginia University School of Medicine, the Department of Pediatrics, and WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Heart Center seek a Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Director of the Children's Heart Center qualified for appointment at the Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties and Key Responsibilities: This senior academic leadership role offers the opportunity to advance a comprehensive program in pediatric cardiology within a growing academic health system. The successful candidate will provide strategic, clinical, and academic leadership for a multidisciplinary division that includes a high-acuity inpatient service, an expansive outpatient network, and a broad range of pediatric cardiology subspecialties. The Division Chief will be responsible for advancing the tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and education, while fostering a culture of academic inquiry, innovation, and collaboration. This position is well-suited for a nationally recognized leader committed to programmatic growth, faculty development, and the advancement of congenital heart care through scholarly activity. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. As part of an integrated and expanding regional system, the leader will have access to significant institutional resources and opportunities to build collaborative programs across disciplines and sites, enhancing both clinical impact and academic productivity. * Provide visionary leadership to advance excellence in pediatric cardiology across clinical, academic, and educational domains * Develop and support a robust research enterprise, including clinical, translational, and outcomes-based investigations * Recruit, mentor, and promote faculty, fostering academic career development and scholarly achievement * Expand educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship * Lead strategic program development and regional outreach to enhance access, quality, and innovation in congenital heart care * Represent the division in national academic societies and contribute to collaborative research networks and multicenter initiatives * Engage in institutional leadership and contribute to the broader mission of the health system and affiliated academic programs This role offers a unique opportunity to build upon an established foundation and further develop a nationally recognized program in pediatric cardiology within a supportive and evolving academic environment. Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a pediatrics residency program, as well as a pediatric cardiology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified in Pediatric Cardiology and eligibility for academic appointment at the associate or full professor level. We are seeking a candidate with a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, including peer-reviewed publications and/or funded research, as well as demonstrated success in academic leadership through program development and faculty mentorship. The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative leadership style with the ability to integrate clinical, research, and educational priorities, along with a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic medicine. WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. We have the only cardiothoracic surgeryprogramofferingsurgical interventions for the full range of congenital heart defects,andECMO programofferingtherapy toinfants, children, and adolescents who have life-threatening lung or heart conditions, in West Virginia. Our 150 bed Children's Hospitalhasa full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiacEP and interventionalcatheterization lab, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes34 pediatric beds,the only level 4NICUin the state,a dedicated Cancer Institute, a Pediatric Emergency Department with Rapid Care,15PICU beds,and isthe mainstayforWVU MedicineGolisano Children'sHeartCenterof Excellenceincluding8 CICU beds. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently.
