Overview

The Test Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for an Area Coordinator to support primarily the HTF, NEAT, D-Site, and CCL test facilities within the Propulsion Test Complex (PTC). The Area Coordinator is the single on-site point of contact (POC) for the test facility, customer, and assigned department/area.



Responsibilities

    Coordinate work activities, resolve any issues or conflicts, and provide support or services as needed and work closely with engineering staff and schedulers to maintain accurate status of work being done at the test facility and assigned department/area.
  1. Responsible for awareness of all ongoing activities and staffing "virtual operations desk" for the test facility and assigned department/area. Maintain an activity log and schedule with all activities taking place.
  2. Participate in daily test facility/department and other meetings as required and organize and/or host on-site meetings involving test planning and execution.
  3. Serve as the single POC for on-site test customers providing a wide array of logistical, informational, troubleshooting, and administrative support and resolving real-time issues or concerns.
  4. Assist with GRC ATF tours, including tour requests, arranging and scheduling general station tours (civic groups, schools, individuals/families, etc.), updating the GRC ATF tour calendar, and tracking and reporting visitor/tour metrics.
  5. Work with other Area Coordinators to determine availability of facilities to accommodate tours/meetings and to identify/coordinate tour guides.
  6. Meet and escort tour groups as required.
  7. Maintain, replenish, and assemble GRC ATF "outreach materials" (lithographs, videos, folders, goody-bags, etc.).
  8. Coordinate GRC ATF logistics (meeting rooms, briefers, catering, transportation, etc.) for VIP tours and/or meetings.
  9. Manage test customer office space and facilitate required services such as phones, copiers, networks, meeting rooms, etc.
  10. Coordinate badging and access for all test customer personnel and tours/visitors and present Armstrong Test Facility (ATF) familiarization briefings to ensure they are familiar with ATF and test facility policies and procedures.
  11. Provide local area information to test customers and visitors as required, coordinate travel logistics, and connect them with local vendors to obtain required materials and services.
  12. Advise all personnel working in any area, other than the office spaces, of activities that may impact their work and check in and out all personnel requiring access to any areas of the test facility or assigned area other than the office spaces.
  13. Manage keys for the test facility and assigned department or area and utilize test complex and project call trees.
  14. Serve as the POC for shipments and deliveries, interfacing with shipping and receiving personnel, completing required forms, and transporting small packages between the test facility or assigned department/area and Shipping and Receiving. Also assist test customer personnel with shipping and receiving of their items.
  15. Coordinate and request commodity deliveries, Main Gate IDIQs for "after-hours" work, auxiliary gate operations for oversized or other special equipment arrivals and departures.
  16. Track and control tools and equipment and all materials received at the test facility to ensure it is delivered to the requestor and is readily available for use when needed (parts/material control/kitting).
  17. Perform other administrative support duties and activities as requested.


Qualifications

  1. This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma and four (4) years of relevant experience in an administrative position requiring planning, scheduling, and coordinating work.
  2. Direct knowledge of general administrative duties, excellent organization, oral and written communication skills are essential.
  3. Typing skills and knowledge of computers and how they function, plus specific knowledge and experience in using up-to-date software is also required.
