Job Location: On-site, Middleton, WI

Job Overview:

Responsible to oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities by maintaining inventory and supplies, by receiving, storing, and delivering items and securing warehouse. In addition, drives HR objectives such as interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions, recommending compensation actions, adhering to policies and procedures.


Responsibilities:

People Management


Supervise Warehouse Staff



  • Directly supervises a team of circa 10 warehouse employees
  • Provide work direction to others; prioritize daily/weekly departmental workloads to meet and respond to changing customer delivery requirements.
  • Promote teamwork across all work centers.
  • Maintain highest possible utilization of personnel and acceptable standards of housekeeping
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


Train and Develop Warehouse Staff



  • Ensures that all direct reports are familiar with, trained on and follow all Quality system procedures related to their jobs which can affect the quality of products or services provided to our customers and that changes to procedures are reviewed, approved, and validated prior to implementation.
  • Monitor, document, and review employee performance to achieve the highest levels of performance, withing with department manager to complete performance appraisals.
  • Make recommendations for appropriate corrective action if required.
  • Implements training programs consistent with the goals of the company and individual needs.
  • Reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems.


Function Management


Daily Workflow



  • Take corrective actions to maintain or improve standards
  • Organize resources in areas of responsibility to achieve planned objectives
  • Ensure solutions are being driven so requirements can be met.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels and transactions to ensure accuracy, includes cycle counts, reconciling variances; inputs and corrects data.
  • Own on-Time Delivery goals and make appropriate changes to maintain them at and/or over above goal.
  • Manage areas of responsibility to follow all ISO, FDA and regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date and follow all Quality System procedures related to this job, which can affect the quality of products or services provided to our customers.
  • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles, maximizing rack space by right sizing shelves and recommend improvements.


Customer Service



  • Maintain internal and external customer/supplier relationships to ensure the department is providing the level of service and quality required.
  • Promote cross-functional teamwork.

Experience and Qualifications:



  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one year related experience in Team Lead or Junior Supervisor role.
  • Desired Training to include Forklift Certification, Hazardous Battery Shipments, Lean Principle
  • Thorough understanding of inventory control, manufacturing systems and warehouse fundamentals.
  • Hands-on dedication to staff training and championing new ideas.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and direction operations.
  • Understanding and ability to use ERP systems.
  • Work independently and exhibit leadership skills to help others reach their full potential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse application software packages.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams both functionally and cross-functionally.
  • Ability to be creative and flexible
  • Understanding of Lean techniques.

Pay Transparency:


Pursuant to the requirements of applicable State laws and regulations, the starting salary range for this position is $XXX- XXX USD. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
