This position is responsible for optimizing divisional operations in receiving, inventory control, product selection and
transportation.

Benefits you can count on:

  • Pay rate: $68,640 to $109,000 per year.
  • This role is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan with a target incentive of 10 % of your base annual salary.

What you'll do as an Expeditor:

  • Monitor purchase orders to maximize in-stock level and minimize inventory exposure.
  • Partner with other Distribution Center functions to achieve operating targets.
  • Maintain inventory levels to minimize obsolescence spoilage.
  • Work with Transportation to optimize backhauls.
  • Manage inter-center transfer, allocation, supply and quality issues.
  • Learn the McLane merchandising systems, including both online and on-demand reports.
  • Manage assets and protect customer service levels.
  • Act as single point of contact or "go-to person" for Grocery Merchandising and Procurement teams.
  • Monitor in-bound product deliveries and work jointly with VP of Distribution and/or receiving Supervisor to provide insight and prioritization.
  • Monitor and manage process and execution of cigarette promotional activities.
  • Work with VP of Distribution to monitor and control inventory spoils, reclamation and customer product returns.
  • Work with Home Office Grocery Merchandising and Procurement to provide division-based information on procurement issues and demand trends.
  • Purchase locally sourced inventory, such as produce and sandwiches.
  • Initiate and oversee donations. Ensure 501C has refrigerated capabilities to protect cold chain.
  • Participate in the Line 8 Meeting on inventory adjustments, cost and salvage.
  • Work effectively with both Cigarette Supervisor and DC Supervisor.
  • Comply policies, procedures and safety protocols.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days after hire.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Distribution Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as an Expeditor:

  • BS or BA degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience required.
  • Understanding of production and inventory management concepts (i.e. pipeline fill, lead times and contingency planning ordering parameters).
  • Solid understanding of divisional operations, including receiving, inventory control, product selection and transportation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • PC experience and skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing and able to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALL products ordered by our customers.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
