Global Sales Strategy & Operations (GSSO) is the team that helps shape Gartner's mission-critical sales priorities and works with sales leaders to drive tactical and analytical insights. As an associate on the GSSO team,you'llbe at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of Gartner's sales force, which delivers approximately $4.9B in annual revenue and working to drive sustained double-digit growth. You will partner with business leaders across Gartner to support a global sales forcecomprisedof more than 5,000 associates who sell to every major function,industryand market sector around the world.

About the role:

TheDirector,Global MarketingStrategy roleis part of the Global Marketing team in GSSO.The Global Marketing team is focused on driving topline revenue and increasingsellerproductivity.

This individual leads the Marketing Strategy team andis responsible forsettingthe strategic vision, aligning priorities across functions, and orchestrating the endtoend delivery of Gartner's most important marketing initiatives. They serve as a key connector betweenMarketing and partners acrossBTI,Sales Enablement, Product, andother enterprise partners to ensure the marketing organizationoperateswith clarity, alignment, and discipline.

This leader will oversee strategic planning, drive organizationwide operating processes, and ensure that marketing programs are executed effectively and consistently. They willrepresentthe marketing agenda with senior stakeholders and help build a highperforming, wellaligned marketing organization.

Whatyou willdo:

Drive Strategic Alignment & Execution

  • Serve as the strategic bridge betweenenterprise partnersand Marketingand align marketing strategy, priorities, and planning with enterprise agendas
  • Ensure clarity of ownership, decision rights, and accountability acrossMarketingteamsin Marketing's program strategy and execution.

Lead Marketing Planning & Operating Rhythms

  • Oversee the development, alignment, and communication of the marketing calendar and strategic plans.
  • Own and run strategic planning cadences (planningsessions, strategic reviews, leadership alignment sessions, etc.).

Enable Operational Excellence

  • Govern operational quality and consistency across campaigns, programs, and workflows.
  • Overseeand drivecross-functional, top-level initiativeswhereneeded.
  • Reduce friction and duplicative work across teams;createsmoother collaboration and improved role clarityin Marketing org.

Lead Through Influence

  • Drive cross-team alignment, remove roadblocks, and ensure marketing delivers predictable outcomes.
  • Coach and developleaders.

Whatyou willneed:

  • 12+ years of experience
  • Proven experience driving cross-functional execution in complex organizations
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong EQ and ability to read org dynamics, resolve conflict, andmaintaintrust

Increased clarity and alignment on marketing programs:

  • Marketingprograms are coordinated, aligned with enterprise-priorities, andare completed on schedule, within budget, and meet predefined quality standards.
  • Projects are consistently aligned with the strategic goals of the organization,demonstratinga clear return on investment.

Collaboration and Perception Among Key Stakeholders:

  • BTI,Sales Enablement,Productand other enterprise partnersview the marketing department as a proactive, strategic,and essential partner.
  • Regular feedback from these teamsindicatesincreased satisfaction with marketing's contributions to theirobjectives.
  • Marketing efforts contribute directly to achieving double-digit growth in customer value (CV),showcasingthe department's impact on the company's bottom line.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 120,000 USD - 167,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
