OBJECTIVE: The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for leading maintenance efforts across electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. This role involves designing maintenance strategies, mentoring lower-level technicians, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

LEADS: : None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the technical expert for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all major systems (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical).
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and protocols, and review them to assess their relevance and applicability.
  • Lead the continuous improvement process by identifying trends, implementing solutions, and reducing downtime.
  • Oversee data analysis efforts to predict equipment failures and optimize performance.
  • Provide leadership and training to Maintenance Technicians and Senior Maintenance technicians, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Build and support a positive and productive work environment by encouraging professional and collaborative interactions with team members and co-workers.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements, in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to company safety requirements.
  • Regular attendance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of Senior technician requirements or 7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Leadership experience in a maintenance or technical role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications in electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic systems.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful continuous improvement projects.

Key Expectations

  • Electrical: Lead electrical troubleshooting and maintenance efforts, including high-level motor control systems.
  • Pneumatics: Lead troubleshooting complex pneumatic system issues.
  • Mechanics: Oversee all major mechanical repairs and ensure efficient maintenance schedules.
  • Problem-Solving: Lead the root cause analysis process and implement long-term solutions.
  • Documentation: Provide clear documentation and reports, lead communication across departments, and mentor junior technicians.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently required to sit and walk.
  • Frequently required to walk up and down stairs.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Required to stand 3-4 hours at a time
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (12 kg).
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg).
  • Fine motor control to grasp ad manipulate objects
  • Frequently required to bend at the waist and knees
  • Frequently required to reach
  • Vision ability including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Frequently required to work with products that contain chemicals or may contain hazardous materials. SDS sheets are provided.
