Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Senior Applications Developer to work on-site from our City Center Headquarters located in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

The Senior Applications Developer is responsible for analysis, design, development, and documentation of solutions that create new user experiences for our members and automate business processes for our internal staff. Works both collaboratively within the Applications Development team and individually on solo software development efforts. Mentors and guides more junior members of the Technical Solutions team.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Serves as a Senior Applications Developer in designing and solutioning of automating our business processes for our internal staff.
  • Employs Test Driven Development for new and existing applications or programmed solutions.
  • Employs industry best practices in implementing code configuration management.
  • Leads integration testing effort for a solution.
  • Creates and executes documented test cases to ensure that application and technical environments meet requirements.
  • Performs decomposition of documented design into technical specifications. Translates use cases into functional working applications that deliver the expected user experience.
  • Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages.
  • Conducts assessment of code compliance with style guides and coding standards to promote consistency in development practices across all programming languages utilized by the data science team.
  • Ensures technical documentation is aligned with the application produced. Maintains the code repository for the Applications Development team.
  • Creates and tests bug fixes and other enhancements, for applications in production.
  • Develops full-stack applications, handling both front-end interfaces and back-end logic, using the languages to include but not limited to ASP.NET, C#, SQL, or JavaScript.
  • Develops and implements Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven applications to improve business processes and member experiences.
  • Supports Azure setup and configuration for cloud-based application deployments.
  • Assists business units with User Acceptance Testing.



Qualifications:



  • Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of full stack application development experience preferred. 9+ years of equivalent professional experience required in the absence of a four-year degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of application/software development experience required.
  • Completed coursework or training in ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript required. SQL coursework, training, or experience preferred. The ability to learn new programming languages/tools required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with adapting various APIs for applications preferred.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft AzureDevOps and/or Azure PaaS desired.
  • Experience with integrating AI solutions in development efforts desired.
