Overview
Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). EOE/MinorityFemale/Disabled/Veteran Overview Performs independent inspections of substantial variety involving pneumatic and hydraulic (instrumentation) systems associated with component processing including valves, regulators, relief devices, piping, tubing, fittings. Performs precision technical monitoring of processes including: receiving, hydrostat testing, disassembly, cleaning, assembly, functional testing, packaging and preservation, and buy-off to documented procedures and review of process results as per Component Processing Facility (CPF) and NASA requirements. May perform assignments in primary facility or field environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus three or more years of direct progressive related experience and demonstrated ability or five years or more of indirect progressive related experience required and demonstrated ability. Position requires comprehensive knowledge of technical expertise gained through work experience in field of specialty. Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with state of the art technology.
- Must be capable of interpreting and comprehending complex mechanical drawings and schematics of various components and systems to review the performance of detailed written tasks accomplished by CPF personnel during the refurbishment and testing of sophisticated pressure control and regulation components.
- Must have the ability to be trained in the basics of shop analysis processes for sampling and maintenance of CPF Cleanline and Cleanroom operations.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude with experience utilizing precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify factory delivered or on-site machined parts are within allowable tolerances.
- Must have basic understanding and competency of working with pressure systems, cryogenics, control mechanism, and PPEs needed to work within hazardous environments.
- Must be competent at records management and retention utilizing a variety of media. Assumes validation responsibilities for defined areas and updates reports as required. Reviews and validates Mandatory Inspection Points (MIPs) within Test Preparation Sheet (TPS), procedures, and Component Processing Control Sheet (CPCS).
- Must have basic PC skills and knowledge of MS Office to track time, perform records management, and facilitate daily CPF operations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
- Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
- Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
- Associates Degree in related field of study and/or equivalent military/trade school training or college education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift minimum of 30 pound load up from the ground frequently
- Walk six hours per day
- Bend and stoop six hours per day
- Work overhead with minimum 20 pound load
- Push and pull frequently throughout the day
- Walk up/down stairs frequently
- Stand seven hours per day
- Climb ladders and scaffolding
- Wear PPE gear six hours continuously (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves)
- Tolerate extreme cold/heat for three hours continuously
