Position Summary

The Senior Products and Services Specialist is an Outreach Representative position that will serve as the main point of contact for contractors promoting Duke Energy's Residential Smart $aver Home Improvement Rebate, Find it Duke, and other energy efficiency, or demand response programs. As a Senior Products and Services Specialist, you will develop relationships with the contractors/trade allies, introduce those trade allies to Duke Energy Residential Products and Services, and nurture the long-term relationship for further cross-sell rebate opportunities as new products and services are introduced to Duke Energy residential customers.

This is the intermediate level of the Trade Ally Outreach Representative classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems with general supervision across a designated territory. Employees are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Effectively support the residential energy efficiency programs by performing outreach, recruitment, and training of program trade allies/vendors and their personnel

  • Oversight of assigned program trade allies and their employees

  • Relationship building with the residential Trade Ally contractor network including attending trade shows and networking events

  • Relationship management, including project support, rebate submission and system support

  • Regional strategy planning

  • Energy efficiency (EE)/Demand Side Management (DSM) program training

  • Retention of residential trade ally contractors

  • Provide EE/DSM program technical support for external/internal customers, including preparing and delivering presentations

Required/Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Other Related Degree

  • Minimum 2 years related work experience

  • In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 2 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 7 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience working within HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Solar or Insulation markets.

  • Knowledge of manufacture and/or utility rebate processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software tools and demonstrated ability to learn new systems.

  • Sales and/or customer/vendor facing experience.

Working Conditions
  • Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
