DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide clerical and administrative support within the library while assisting the librarian. You will help ensure that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining an orderly environment and enforcing all agency, facility, and library policies among inmate workers and patrons. You will assist individuals in locating, accessing, and using a wide range of library resources, including recreational, legal, and reentry materials. You will collaborate with the librarian on training, scheduling, hiring, and, when necessary, the termination of inmate workers. Responsibilities include helping oversee general library services, law library functions, and housing unit support. Additionally, you will coordinate daily callouts for inmate library access, maintain accountability for authorized individuals, and establish consistent routines for servicing housing units, including the delivery and inventory of library materials.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hour-work week
- Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $42,406.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
