MENU PROGRAM MANAGER

CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

Starting Salary: $89,112.00/year, BX18

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking a Menu Program Manager to oversee and coordinate a portfolio of capital improvement projects assigned to the Aldermanic Menu Program and perform related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Serves as the point of contact and liaison to aldermanic offices for the Aldermanic Menu Program
  • Coordinates the selection, planning, and implementation of capital projects within aldermanic wards
  • Prepares project plans and cost estimates in coordination with aldermanic offices including the establishment of work plans for each phase of project(s)
  • Consults with department staff and contractors to determine the scope of services, budgets and specifications of projects
  • Analyzes project proposals to determine the time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing project objectives and goals
  • Manages the administration of project(s) from inception to end
  • Reviews and tracks project budgets across various funding sources to ensure resources are allocated in accordance with City policies and funding eligibility requirements
  • Supports legislative and intergovernmental coordination (e.g., advises on proposed ordinances, analyzes proposed regulations, creates intergovernmental agreements, develops recommendations for implementation compliance) to ensure alignment with policy, legislation and infrastructure implementation
  • Works with external agencies (e.g., utility companies) to ensure departmental projects are coordinated in relation to the timing and scope of other capital projects Ensures that project goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within allocated time frame and funding parameters
  • Facilitates and attends meetings to keep aldermanic offices abreast on public infrastructure initiatives
  • Prepares project reports for executive staff and Aldermanic offices
  • Represents the department at community and town hall meetings to promote and discuss capital projects and programs
    Additional duties may be required for this position

Location: 2 N. LaSalle St., Ste 1110
Days: Monday-Friday
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm

Qualifications

Five (5) years of work experience in project management, construction, or paraprofessional
engineering, OR
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree, PLUS three (3) years of project management, construction, or paraprofessional engineering work experience, OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher, PLUS one (1) year of project management, construction, or paraprofessional engineering work experience
