Automation & Controls Engineer Join our team as an Automation & Controls Engineer - Food & Beverage and become a vital driver of innovation within the food, consumer products, pharmaceutical, and life sciences industries. In this dynamic role, you will lead the design, development, and commissioning of advanced automation and control systems for diverse projects, ranging from small enhancements to large-scale EPC initiatives. Your expertise will help deliver cutting-edge solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and quality across multiple food and beverage facility locations. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, with EPC project and automation controls experience preferred Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design standards (ANSI, IEEE) Proficiency with PLC and HMI programming, including Rockwell and Siemens platforms Experience with SCADA systems such as Factory Talk and Wonderware, and MES design is advantageous Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and vendors Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail Nice to Have Skills: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one Familiarity with GE, Modicon, Mitsubishi, Triconex PLC platforms Knowledge of safety and process control standards such as ISA/IEC 61511, ISA/IEC 61511, and UL508A Experience with machine safety risk assessments and SIF/SIS design compliance Skills with tools like SISTEMA, CCW, IAB, BatchSIM, and PlantSIM Understanding of PlantPAX, PackML, Ignition, Parsec TrakSYS, and related manufacturing systems Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field with 3+ years of experience or Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant EPC and automation project experience Proven track record leading large, complex automation & controls designs in industrial settings Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% to project sites for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting Other Requirements: Ability to travel domestically to project sites Capability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) Familiarity with safety standards and design practices such as NFPA, ISA, IEC, and ISO13849 If you're ready to elevate your career by working on exciting food & beverage automation projects and making a real impact, we encourage you to apply now and join a forward-thinking team dedicated to innovation and excellence!
