Job Summary


The Assembler II is responsible for performing intermediate-level assembly tasks within the Aerospace Group, Interconnect Technology Division (ITD). This role focuses on assembling standard and specialized connectors, preparing compounds, and operating equipment in compliance with product and process specifications. The Assembler II works with minimal supervision, provides guidance to junior assemblers, and ensures quality and safety standards are maintained throughout the production process.

Job Responsibilities




  • Set up equipment and prepare compounds for assembly operations, including inks, paints, adhesives, molding compounds, and potting materials.



  • Assemble standard and specialized connectors according to work orders, product specifications, and written or verbal instructions.



  • Manually or machine-load retainers into molded plastic inserts.



  • Bond loaded front inserts to molded plastic rear inserts and bond interface and grommet seals to assemblies.



  • Assemble and bond EMI rings to connector shells per work order instructions.



  • Apply identification stamping, paint components, and apply paint stripe markings to contacts as required.



  • Prepare single and shielded wires for termination, crimp contacts, and assemble simple cables to connectors.



  • Load and operate heat treat and annealing ovens.



  • Train and assist Assembler I personnel as needed.



  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and perform housekeeping duties.



  • Stage materials for shipment in compliance with internal procedures.



  • Recognize and report assembly problems or equipment issues to supervision.




Job Requirements and Experience




  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.



  • 1-2 years of experience in mechanical manufacturing assembly operations.



  • Ability to read, follow, and understand verbal instructions, drawings, product/process specifications, and work orders in English.



  • Good manual dexterity to assemble small and intricate parts.



  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, and handling of components.



  • Ability to recognize assembly issues and report equipment breakdowns.



  • Must be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations and legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.



  • Must reside within 50 miles of City of Industry, CA.




Preferred Skills




  • Experience with bonding and assembling EMI rings, grommet seals, and plastic insert assemblies.



  • Experience in operating production equipment and compound preparation for aerospace or precision assemblies.
