Due to the 5,300 elevation Prescott enjoys very comfortable average temps throughout the year - including 80's in the summertime. We are seeking a highly experienced embedded software engineer that thrives in a lean, performance-driven environment, and takes full accountability for technical outcomes. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and apply sound engineering judgment to deliver reliable, compliant, and maintainable software aligned with business and customer objectives. What You'll Do: Develops, designs, and tests software for equipment, systems, products, and tools. Includes low level hardware/software interface drivers, higher level application software, Engineering tools, and software verification environments. May include working at the hardware software interface boundary, such as programmable logic devices (FPGA's, etc.). Provides input into new products, processes, standards, or operational plans in support of the organization's business strategies. Responsible for planning and executing project subtasks to meet customer specifications (designing, testing, etc.). Leads teams (internal and external) to ensure program compliance. Leads technical development activities and coordinates cross-functionally with other areas of the business. Interfaces and/or leads exchanges with internal and external customers, vendors and suppliers throughout the life of the project. Interfaces with customers for technology development. Creates and influences customer requirements and specifications. Leads a variety of meetings and presentations regarding projects and processes. Identifies problems and updates working methods without the benefit of defined procedures. Conceptualizes, designs, plans, and implements product and process improvements. May design and develop new technologies and applications for products. Identifies and proposes technical improvements using engineering expertise. Leads subcontractors and/or external engineering resources and understands the global impact of their use. Job Requirements What You'll Bring (Requirements): BSCS, BSEE or similar STEM degree Min 10 years of software engineering experience, that includes 5 years in writing and debugging real time, safety critical, embedded software in C/C++. Min 3 years of expertise in DO-178B/C software development process and Architecture/Design/Development of real time, safety critical, embedded software. Min 5 years of experience with time/space partitioned real time operating systems (RTOS). Min 3 years of experience capturing requirements and designs with requirements management tools (a plus to have DOORS or Visure). What Sets You Apart: Highly preferred: Experience with Linux in embedded devices. Experience with software defined radios. Experience with model-based design, e.g. SCADE. Preferred: Expertise with design assurance level partitioning for safety critical systems. Extensive understanding of architectural styles and design patterns. Extensive understanding of development methodologies. Experience in avionics electronics development Experience using bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
