GP Strategies Government Solutions has an opening for an Aircraft Tool Specialist.

Job Summary:

• Coordinate and maintain training materials for aircraft manufacturing training classroom and lab courses. Duties may include ensuring hand tools, training aids and materials are ready, cleaned, and available for scheduled classes; setup, takedown, and recovery of training aids; manage training aids and materials storage rooms; Training materials include hand tools, consumables, chemicals, and training aids.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains tool inventory records
• Operates manual or mechanical devices and stocks inventory shelves
• Assorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or color
• Fills requisitions for materials, tools, or stock items
• Records material items received or distributed
• Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work area
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Basic Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in tool control management in aerospace, manufacturing, or training environments with a focus on tool inventory, audit, and tool control program compliance, and support equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common shop processes, fasteners, hand/power tools, and basic metrology.
• Demonstrated adherence to safety standards and ability to execute risk mitigation for tooling use.
• Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in engineering technology, manufacturing, maintenance, or related field preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on location of assignment.

Assignment Location - San Antonio, TX

• Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Fingering (typing), communicating, repetitive motions.
• Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
• Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
