Responsibilities
Allan Myers is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chef to join our team. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of culinary experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences. The Executive Chef will lead all food-related operations for onsite employee luncheons, customer appreciation events, and special gatherings, including tailgating at Eagles games and Allan Myers campus events. This position involves managing a traveling food preparation trailer equipped with modern appliances, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and presentation. Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Execution:
- Plan and execute an annual schedule of culinary events, including jobsite luncheons, tailgates, and corporate gatherings.
- Create menus tailored to various events, accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences as needed.
- Travel to event locations and manage all aspects of food preparation and service for groups ranging from 20 to 200 people, including tailgating or other supporting events among the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Culinary Leadership:
- Lead all food handling, preparation, and cooking activities using the company's state-of-the-art traveling kitchen trailer.
- Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with regional regulations and company policies.
- Inventory Management & Purchasing:
- Oversee the procurement of high-quality ingredients and supplies, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and efficient inventory management.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to secure the best products and pricing.
- Team Collaboration & Customer Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams to align culinary services with event goals and enhance overall customer and employee experiences.
- Represent the company as a culinary ambassador, delivering exceptional service and hospitality to all attendees.
- Operational Excellence:
- Manage the upkeep and maintenance of the traveling kitchen trailer and all associated equipment.
- Monitor and report on event performance metrics, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in professional culinary roles, with significant experience in large-scale event catering and mobile food operations.
- Certification: Valid food handling and preparation certifications (ServSafe or equivalent required).
- Skills:
- Expertise in menu creation, food preparation, and presentation.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple events and schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Other:
- Willingness to travel extensively within the mid-Atlantic region.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment and supplies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in corporate event catering or similar roles.
- Knowledge of regional cuisines and the ability to incorporate diverse flavors into menus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs without compromising quality.
