Location: Milton, DE (Hybrid*)

Target Start Date: 7/1/26

Target End Date: 12/31/26

We are currently hiring a FT Temporary Communications Support in Milton, DE.

This role will support communications initiatives for the Dogfish Head brand, focusing on public relations for Dogfish Head's local taprooms and locations.

What You'll Brew:

The primary responsibility of the Communications Contractor for Dogfish Head is to develop and execute public relations efforts to support the brand's hospitality locations, including Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, Chesapeake & Maine, the Milton Tasting Room and the Dogfish INN, as well as its Beer & Benevolence philanthropy program. The purpose of this role is to generate external interest in and drive traffic to Dogfish Head's retail locations through compelling media relations strategies and tactics. This person will also assist on other regional and national publicity efforts for Dogfish Head and potentially, for other Boston Beer brands and taprooms, as needed. This position is located in Milton, Delaware, and will report to the Manager of Communications for Dogfish Head.



  • Create and execute PR efforts for each retail location that support the brand's overall marketing strategy and programming calendar to reach and engage audiences locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Manage day-to-day PR strategy development and execution for Dogfish Head's local brands and taprooms while acting as a liaison between key internal and external partners.
  • Work alongside Dogfish Head's Social Media Coordinators, Market & Events team, and Beer & Benevolence leader to collaborate on timing of announcements, social media and newsletter content, publication of event listings, execution of media interviews, internal amplification of messaging, etc.
  • Support PR efforts for national brand releases, as needed, and align with Dogfish Head's Communications Manager on all local PR plans prior to execution.
  • Build and maintain media lists, draft press releases and pitches, execute media outreach and follow-up, prepare brand spokespeople for interviews and speaking opportunities, and contribute to press coverage tracking and analysis.
  • Trafficking of press releases, media alerts and other written materials through key internal players and when applicable, external partners.
  • Manage all external PR inquiries for Dogfish Head's local brands and taprooms, and coordinate media and influencer visits, familiarization trips, and interviews with local teams and / or the best brand spokespeople.
  • Engage and strengthen relationships with local and regional organizations, including tourism boards, chambers of commerce, non-profits, etc., to ensure the Dogfish Head brand remains top-of-mind in the community and beyond.
  • Manage local PR budget and track related spending, ensuring the team optimizes media opportunities to maximize return-on-investment.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Must be able to lift a case of beer. Must be able to travel to Dogfish Head's Delaware locations three (3) days per week. Other travel may be required, as well as occasional work some nights and weekends.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or comparable job experience) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related function.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Interest and / or experience in communications, journalism, marketing and / or public relations.
  • Proven communications skills, including strong writing abilities.
  • Ability to think creatively, especially as it relates to problem solving.
  • Outgoing disposition with a strong ability to build meaningful, trusted relationships.
  • Highly organized, flexible, self-motivated and able to succeed in a dynamic, fast-pasted environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Previous job experience or internships / co-ops in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations is a plus.


In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $20.00 per hour.
