As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and guests, and respond to concerns with calm, customer-focused service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and coordinating with onsite staff and/or local responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with check-in expectations as directed by site policy, and report unauthorized persons and/or policy violations.
  • Complete detailed written reports and incident documentation, communicate important observations to supervisors and site contacts, and participate in shift briefings and/or passdowns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • The client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
