Job Description




As a Security Officer - Mobile Patrol Driver in Wilmington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm, professional communication. You will support staff, students, and visitors with strong customer service while documenting observations and reporting concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and facility-related concerns, and promptly notify appropriate campus contacts and/or public responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, parking areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and common areas during patrols, assist with directions and information requests, and help manage special events and peak traffic periods as assigned.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, perform shift briefings and/or pass-downs, and support campus policy compliance such as parking and after-hours access as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6+ months of security experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
