STS Technical Services is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor to support operations in Reno, Nevada. This role is responsible for leading warehouse personnel while driving safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency across assigned departments. Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations and hourly employees to ensure business objectives are met. This role balances people leadership with process execution, ensuring compliance with safety standards, contractual requirements, and operational goals while fostering a culture of accountability and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel and support hourly employees regarding performance, attendance, and workplace concerns
- Reinforce positive performance behaviors and address negative behaviors consistently and professionally
- Apply Quality Network problem-solving processes to identify improvement opportunities and engage the workforce in solutions
- Utilize Workplace Organization (WPO) principles to improve warehouse layout, flow, and efficiency
- Perform daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Document problem-solving activities using A3 reporting in accordance with local guidelines
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate business performance and encourage two-way discussion
- Perform and document weekly safety observation tours across assigned departments
- Plan daily workloads in advance to meet operational and production requirements
- Support peer supervisors to optimize shift performance and workload balance
- Enforce shop rules and comply with national and local contractual requirements
- Conduct daily SOP audit checks to ensure process compliance
- Support employee development through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process
- Maintain regular communication with the General Supervisor and Shop Committee regarding operational activities
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of warehouse and manufacturing processes and procedures
- Strong understanding of basic math and inventory concepts
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with scheduling, timekeeping, and management systems
- Strong analytical skills for resolving complex operational issues
- High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams
- Working knowledge of quality control procedures
- Basic understanding of the technology and systems used in assigned areas
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of technical or business school training preferred
- Skilled trades training or equivalent technical background preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant warehouse or manufacturing experience required
