ChristianaCare is looking for aMedical Assistant I to join their Weight Management team As aMedical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice. Duties / Responsibilities:
AMedical Assistant Irole encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing patient care and administrative support within a healthcare practice. Key duties include greeting and assisting patients on-site, rooming patients, and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs. TheMedical Assistant Iperforms point of care testing, and supports clinicians during examinations and procedures is critical, and this includes preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies, completing patient-specific paperwork, and ensuring that electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results for subsequent visits. TheMedical Assistant Ihandles patient callbacks with information as directed by providers and follows state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment. TheMedical Assistant Ioffer documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures, undertake clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors, and help patients utilize ChristianaCare's Patient Portal. Safety is paramount, as theMedical Assistant Iis responsible for working safely, adhering to departmental safety rules, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or violations that could potentially harm patients, staff, or visitors. Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED required. A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
