Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol with Tablet in Santa Ana, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a busy government airport location, you will conduct routine foot patrols of terminals and surrounding areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access points and badge checks as needed. You will document activity using a computer and/or tablet, assist travelers and staff with directions and customer service, and collaborate with teammates while acting with integrity in our agile, reliable, and innovative culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government facility.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to on-site contacts and/or public agencies as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, administrative areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, access concerns, and/or hazards for reporting.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by checking credentials, monitoring doors and gates, and maintaining visitor and/or vendor logs in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete required reports and logs, including shift activity documentation, incident reports, and patrol observations, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
