Job Description




As a Security Officer - Alarm Response Patrol Driver in New Providence, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence, and help identify and report security-related concerns. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. You will support access and perimeter checks, communicate clearly with site contacts, and contribute to a culture that is agile, reliable, and innovative, delivering through teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to Allied Universal clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, tank farms, warehouses, offices, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards and/or suspicious conditions.
  • Control access by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining entry and exit logs, and directing employees, contractors, and deliveries to appropriate locations per site-specific requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other site systems when assigned; report irregularities, equipment concerns, and observed process area issues to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with evacuations, establishing observation points, documenting events, and completing accurate reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
