Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Utility Patrol Driver in Mont Belvieu, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible, and report security-related concerns with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license in the job state. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including equipment alarms, suspicious activity, and operational disruptions.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, yards, access roads, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and identify irregular conditions.
  • Control access at gates and designated entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor purpose, and by directing traffic to approved areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other facility systems when assigned, and communicate concerns promptly to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Perform vehicle and/or pedestrian screenings as directed by site procedures, including package and property checks when authorized.
  • Document patrol activity, inspections, incidents, and maintenance concerns in written and/or electronic logs, and complete required reports accurately and promptly.
  • Provide clear directions and assistance to employees, contractors, and visitors, including check-in and check-out processes and communication of site rules.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel, emergency services, and Allied Universal leadership during routine operations and heightened situations.
  • Observe and report hazards such as spills, leaks, damaged fencing, unsecured doors, and poor lighting to appropriate site contacts for follow-up.
  • Support emergency response actions when appropriate, including evacuation support, scene control, and relaying information to responding personnel.
  • Follow post orders and site-specific requirements related to restricted areas, contractor activity, and authorized work permits.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
