Overview The HRBP, under direction of the AVP HR Business Partner (North American P&C and Global Specialty Risk) is expected to be a strategic thought partner drive and implement HR practice and initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and build management capability below the VP level; supports the assessment and development of talent and organization design to positively impact overall business performance and people metrics. While visible and involved in business unit projects, the position will be focused on elevating business outcomes, communication, talent planning and performance of the leaders and managers below the VP level. Under guidance of the Manager of Human Resources, the individual will also provide Employee Relations support as assigned balancing legal requirements, consistent practices, business and employee needs for integrated solutions. Responsibilities * Proactively communicates with AVP, HRBP to inform, align and plan for the most effective HR delivery for the assigned business unit(s). * Consults and advises Managers on talent and workforce needs to meet the business objectives; facilitates and supports talent discussions informally and formally as enterprise tools are rolled out, bringing a point of view on talent as well. * Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationship, build morale and increase productivity, engagement and retention. * Provide guidance policy and interpretation * Proactively communicates with all HR colleagues to achieve the best outcomes related to Talent, Compensation HRIS and Training. * Facilitates discussion and provides coaching to supervisors and managers on improving engagement, the work environment and achieving best business outcomes. * Provides guidance and information on AmTrust HR initiatives such as pay for performance, performance reviews, management training, job descriptions and more. * Analyzes data to understand current state and opportunities related to workforce and talent. * Participates in organizational design initiatives and change management planning as required or requested. * Ensures positive employee relations under guidance of Director of Employee Relations; discusses ER issues with Employee Relations Consultant and/or Business Partner leaders. * Serve as central point with the Corporate HR functions (Compensation, T&D, etc.) to research and address questions, following up with managers as needed. * May lead projects within HR or on the HRBP team. * Performs duties as requested or required. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, or graduate degree, in Business, Human Resource Management, or a related discipline preferred. An advanced degree in business is a plus. * Minimum 5 years in HR discipline or generalist role in HR. Employee Relations experience a plus. * Experience supporting professionals within the insurance, finance or banking industry preferred. * Self-aware and willingness to learn from experiences and coaching. * Requires effective oral and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy. Advanced excel is a plus. * Demonstrated organizational skills, managing multiple priorities and handling time sensitive and confidential information. * Willingness to travel up to 10% nationally as needed. The expected salary range for this role is $76,600-$105,000/year. Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
