Zayo is looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) who can embed quickly into Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Agile Teams, facilitating processes and execution, driving relentless improvement, and enabling value delivery at scale. The RTE works with Product Management, System Architects, Business SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on vision, priorities, and execution across teams. This role requires strong facilitation skills, an ability to resolve impediments, manage cross-team dependencies, and a passion for enabling teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Facilitation & Delivery

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate ART events such as PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and Scrum of Scrums.

  • Drive program-level cadence and synchronization to align multiple Agile teams toward shared goals.

  • Ensure cross-team coordination and alignment with portfolio priorities.

Coaching & Leadership

  • Serve as a servant leader to the ART, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.

  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Execution & Alignment

  • Work with Product Management and other stakeholders to define and communicate program objectives, priorities, and dependencies.

  • Track, manage, and communicate progress toward objectives, identifying and addressing risks and impediments.

  • Identify, track, and manage cross-team and cross-ART dependencies to ensure alignment, mitigate delivery risks, and enable seamless value delivery across the program.

  • Facilitate dependency mapping and resolution during PI Planning and throughout the Program Increment, proactively engaging stakeholders to remove blockers and coordinate delivery timelines.

Metrics & Improvement

  • Establish, track, and report key ART metrics (e.g., predictability, delivery performance, quality).

  • Lead improvement initiatives identified during Inspect & Adapt sessions and retrospectives.

Organizational Maturity

  • Push SAFe Evolution initiatives and guide the team of teams to a more mature state.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Agile delivery roles (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager).

  • Deep understanding of SAFe principles and Agile delivery at scale.

  • Proven facilitation skills across large, cross-functional groups.

  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification is preferred.

  • Experience in large enterprise environments with complex, cross-team dependencies.

  • Experience in maturing organizations in SAFe or Agile methodologies.

  • Familiarity with software tools (e.g., Jira, LucidChart).

Optional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), MI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

  • Experience working with decentralized or offshore agile teams

  • Familiarity with telecom systems like OSS/BSS, CRM, network inventory, service activation, and billing

  • Experience in telecommunications and/or software delivery.

Estimated base salary range: $77,100 - $118,600 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
