Position summary

Tantus is seeking a Project Manager to support our client at The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This position will be working on the Quality Improvement Programs responsible for supporting the backlog refinement process, organizing and facilitating project/program activities, and coordinating information gathering and sharing between product management, the development teams, the human-centered design team, and external stakeholders. You will apply business and technical expertise to identify program pain points and provide recommendations for backlog prioritizing, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

What will you do in this role?

  • Provides Agile team management, planning, customer support and process management for multiple active and ongoing programs/projects.
  • Supports the Release Training Engineer with Agile Release Train Management activities.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of applications, assisting with planning efforts and working to remove obstacles so that project teams can accomplish benchmark tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support process development and documentation
  • Support and disseminate communication across the Product team related to key decisions and new/updated processes
  • Lead and facilitate general meetings and knowledge sharing activities
  • Works collaboratively to foster and build team relationships amongour client, Program Task Leaders/Project Group Leaders, third party entities/contractors and project team members to plan software releases which support Program objectives.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively present to clients and stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Uses knowledge of program goals and strategies to assistprioritizingof release scope.
  • Reports to the client on project status and communicates any delays or changes in the project plan.
  • Assesses and communicates any program impacts due to delays in product delivery or any planned/unplanned system outages. Manages end user communications.
  • Actively identifies manages, communicates and mitigates project risks and issues.
  • Maintains project documentation and prepares weekly and monthly project statuses.
  • Assist in developing and socializing programmatic information radiators such as strategic and product roadmaps
  • Participate in Agile/Scaled Agile ceremonies as necessary
  • Support the Playbook effort

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 10 years' progressive experience in program or project management
  • Certifications in project management (PMI PMP) and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Ability to combine project management principles with Agile development requirements
  • Experience using-project management toolsets such as JIRA and Confluence, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Demonstrated ability managing complex, multi-task projects and multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to manage project risks and issues
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $125,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
