Job Overview:

  • This position requires high levels of responsibility, accountability, and independent self-motivated work charged with the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive regional healthcare preparedness and response program through the Healthcare Coalition (HCC) and the Healthcare Preparedness Program (HPP).
  • Under the direction and oversight of the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Healthcare Preparedness Program (HPP) Coordinator and Central Office staff, this position will coordinate preparedness, response, and recovery activities that support the state's Healthcare Preparedness Program initiative.
  • The goal of this initiative is to strengthen the ability of health and medical agencies to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies including naturally occurring, accidental, or intentional incidents that impact healthcare delivery and community resilience.
  • The RHC will serve as a regional liaison and subject matter resource for partners of the Mid-South Emergency Planning Coalition (MSEPC), with assigned work counties including Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale, and Tipton, and collaborative engagement across the West Tennessee Region as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, Emergency Management, Hospital Administration, or a related field (master's preferred).
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in healthcare administration, emergency preparedness, or public health program management (may substitute relevant experience for education per TDH policy). * ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 (required); ICS 300/400 within 24 months of hire.
  • Valid TN driver's license; ability to travel regionally and statewide.
