Position Overview

The Licensed Practice Nurse position is responsible for delivering quality nursing care including but not limited to, taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and other various technical nursing tasks in providing health care to youth.

Job Responsibilities



  • Provides nursing services, treatment and continuity of care for all youth, in conjunction with other practitioners, to ensure health needs are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Assists with clinics daily including assessing, medicating, treating and educating youth.
  • Follows physician's specific medical orders from youth chart; documents medication/treatments on MAR sheet; charts all health assessments and incident reports in report book.
  • Sets up medication for clinics. Orders/re-orders medication as needed.
  • Treats youth at other scheduled times and delivers first aid / emergency care to youth when needed.

Qualifications

Job Requirements



  • Minimum Associates Degree. Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse's license and CPR/First Aid certification. TCI Certification Preferred.
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience. Experience with at-risk youth in an institutional environment preferred.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to provide weekend, holiday and on call coverage.
