Job Description
A REMOTE Senior Electrical Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. To be considered for the role you will have a deep expertise in printed circuit board (PCB) design to lead the development of high-reliability electronic hardware. This role requires end-to-end technical ownership of complex board designs, adherence to stringent regulatory and safety standards, and collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Job Duties:
* Lead the design and development of complex, high-reliability PCB assemblies.
* Develop and review detailed electrical schematics for digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal designs.
* Perform advanced component selection with emphasis on reliability, derating, obsolescence management, radiation tolerance (as applicable), and long-term supply availability.
* Define board stack-ups, impedance profiles, and routing strategies for high-speed and high-density designs.
* Perform and review power integrity and signal integrity analysis to ensure compliance with aerospace performance and reliability requirements.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
* Support board bring-up, debug, and validation in the laboratory using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and environmental test equipment.
* Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, including DO-160, DO-254, IPC Class 3, and other applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
* Lead design reviews, failure investigations, and root cause analysis activities.
* Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Reliability (DFR) throughout the product lifecycle.
* Interface directly with suppliers, fabrication and assembly partners, and certification authorities as required.
* Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design data packages, test procedures, and compliance artifacts.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 15+ years of experience in PCB design for high-reliability or regulated industries, preferably aerospace or defense.
* Demonstrated expertise in schematic capture, layout, board bring-up, and production support.
* Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, or Siemens Xpedition.
* Strong background in high-speed digital design, power electronics, analog circuits, and mixed-signal systems.
* Proven experience performing power integrity and signal integrity analysis for complex multilayer boards.
* Hands-on experience debugging complex hardware in a laboratory and environmental test setting.
* Experience with the documentation rigors of a regulated industry. Developing S.M.A.R.T. requirements, design documentation, verification plans, etc.

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering an salary rate of $140,000 to $170,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
