Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Georgetown, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a busy healthcare location. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and support patients, visitors, and staff with calm customer service and clear communication. This post requires an armed guard card or license and offers a chance to work with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and always acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff while carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and security-related protocols within a healthcare location.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws, including maintaining required credentials, following weapons handling and retention practices, and using sound judgment during security-related events.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or urgent requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with hospital personnel and/or local first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas and exterior grounds such as entrances, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity documentation, and communicate observations and/or hazards to site leadership for timely follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2+ years' law enforcement/military police/corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
