Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a cutting-edge tech location as an armed patrol officer with driving duties. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service requests with calm, clear communication. Bring your Armed Guard Card or License and a valid driver's license to support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and always acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to an armed post at a technology-focused location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Control access at gates, lobbies, and/or other controlled entry points by verifying credentials, directing visitors and contractors, and following site-specific badging and check-in procedures.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation; operate radios, access control systems, and/or video monitoring equipment in accordance with post orders and Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
