We are currently seeking an Infection Control Nurse/Nurse Educator for Riveredge Hospital. We have multiple openings for a variety of options regarding shift and schedule. The Infection Controlnurseis responsible forcoordinating the activities of the Facility's infection control program, by assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance, infection control reporting, and provision of infection control technical support and education for the facility staff.

The Nurse Educator supports, conducts, designs and oversees education of members of nursing staff with a focus on professional development. Responsibilities include orientation of newly hired employees, assessing the trainings needs of established staff, organizing and ensuring execution of annual competencies and participating in the hiring process as necessary.


Qualifications

Experience/Requirements

  • Current license to practice nursing in Illinois (or eligible to receive or renew).
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Prefer two years' work experience in Infection Control, or one year experience in Infection Control with an understanding of infection control principles and practice, to include basic epidemiology, disease transmission, microbiology,surveillanceand sanitation.
  • Two years'experiencestaff/patient education (preferred) using adult learning teaching methods
