Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. Summary:The Documentation & Logistics Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end trade operations while meeting export trade compliance requirements for seafood. This position requires a highly organized and accurate individual with exemplary customer service skills. Spanish language skills desired (not required).

  • Executes daily operations across sales and transfers by applying strong working knowledge of sales and in-transit order processes withinERP (SAP)and real-world workflows.
  • Communicates with production plants and both foreign and domestic coldstorage partnersregardingorder releases, loading instructions, labeling requirements, and timing to ensureaccurateandtimelymovement.Effectivelyutilizesall available tools and technology to ensure accuracyandefficientexecution.
  • Builds customer confidence by ensuring expectations and commitments are consistently met. Establishes andmaintainspositive, effective relationships with internal and external customers. Acts with Commercialobjectivesin mind anddemonstratesa strong commitment to delivering highquality customer service.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders across operations,logistics, sales, and warehousing to achieve desired outcomes, while reduces potential issues through strong criticalthinking skills and developingeffective solutions while addressing concerns with clarity and professionalism.
  • Confirms documentation requirements, meets necessary documentation deadlines. Works with freight forwarders, carriers, USDC Seafood Inspection Program,DEC,Chamber of Commerce,vendorsand other partners to produce necessary documents within required timeframes.
  • Initiates export freight bookings with preferred carriers andissuesbilloflading and shipment instructions to the ocean carrier. Providestimelyshipment updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors incoming payments when appropriate to ensure prompt title release and prevent cold storage and container demurrage charges. Adheres to title protectionprotocolsto minimize financial risk.
  • Prepares and presents documents under Letters of Credit and/or Documentary Collections as required, utilizing the banking portal. Interact with Banking andLC Negotiationrepresentativesas needed to support Commercial transactions.
  • Participates in coverage for and training of other team members as needed.
  • Interactswiththird-partyweb portalstofacilitatebusiness.
  • Works onsite to buildstrong teamconnections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate range of $32 to $41 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

RequiredQualifications:

  • Minimumfiveyears relatedworkingexperience
  • High School Diploma or GED required

PreferredEducation & Experiences:

  • Experiencedwithexport documentation,trade operations,oceanlogisticsand/or equivalent combination of training,educationand experience
  • AA Degree preferred
  • Spanish language skills preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge ofERP systems,trace operationsbest practices,import or exportcomplianceare desirable.
  • Stronginterpersonalskills,oral and writtencommunication, Excel, dataanalysis.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
