As a Principal Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the interior design for our aircraft. You will also manage structural and mechanical deliverables. You will also manage structural and mechanical deliverables.

Position Description:

  • Responsible for generating detailed 2-D/3-D structural and mechanical engineering drawings for the fabrication and installation of business jet interiors, avionics and structural repairs/modifications.
  • Provide overall management of the structural and mechanical engineering deliverables.
  • Formulate, implement and track assigned engineering programs to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules, contracts, and specifications.
  • Determine, control and report structural engineering budget and variance.
  • Provide timely technical assistance to fabrication shops, production, quality and other departments in interpretation and implementation of design data.
  • Coordinate data submittals supporting FAA certification.
  • Actively support and participates in PDRs and CDRs.
  • Interface with other Engineering Leads, CPMs and other departments to ensure design requirements are fully defined and provide estimates for the required activities.
  • Responsible for the following deliverables:
    • Structural/ Mechanical Drawings, stress reports and approvals
    • Test Plans for Mechanical Systems
    • Placard Drawings
    • Assist with ICAs, Cert Plans, Airworthiness Limitations, and Issue Papers as required.
  • Assist Engineering Director as required.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned. This position has indirect supervision responsibilities.

Position Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of experience working in an engineering role with leadership experience.
  • 4 year Engineering Degree required
  • Extensive experience working with 14 CFR Parts 21, 23 and 25.
  • Preference giving to applicants with existing FAA delegation. i.e. DER/DAR
  • Be able to work either alone or as a team to solve problems.
  • Must be able to promote a team environment.
  • Must be able to work extended hours & weekends as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills. Must be able to look ahead, anticipate problems and proactively address issues. Must be able to handle multiple projects and multiple deadlines.
  • The ability to write and speak clearly and effectively.
  • The ability to think clearly, logically and analytically.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Bend, kneel and stretch on various parts of the aircraft and facility.

Salary: $103,208 - $154,812

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, StandardAero considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
