Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Donor Services - Mobile Operations assumes responsibility for supervising the staff in collections at mobile sites. Monitors the collection activities to ensure compliance with SOPs. Serves as resource for donor eligibility and phlebotomy complications. Delegates duties to staff. Assists with activities related to hiring, evaluating and improvement processes. Monitors mobile calendar and works with recruitment department in determining mobile staffing needs. Responsible for meeting production goals. Responsible for financial oversight of mobile operations. Promotes positive image of CBC to community. Performs duties of Assistant Director of Donor Services - Mobile Operations in his/her absence.

Essential Functions:

    Supervises blood collections at mobile sites as needed.
  • Manages day-to-day activities of DRS staff and mobile operations.
  • Responsible for responding to storage temperature alarms as they pertain to mobile packing.
  • Ensures for maintaining and reconciling monthly equipment inventory.
  • Performs competently all tasks required Collection Supervisor.
  • Investigates and follows up on customer complaints.
  • Ensures staff compliance with SOPs.
  • Ensures compliance with CBC safety policies and procedures.
  • Handles or seeks help for emergencies that occur.
  • Maintains confidentiality of personal information regarding donors and staff.
  • Provides written evaluation of staff concerning performance and compliance with SOPs.
  • Handles employee relations issues (i.e. behavior, counseling, attendance, etc.).
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
  • May frequently work more than 40 hours per week.
  • Serves as a resource for Collection Supervisors.
  • Responsible for budget development and adherence to applicable DS mobile team.
  • Aids in ensuring training and proper licensing/certification of staff performing donor apheresis and whole blood.
  • Must be able to confidently communicate and interpret intermediate information in English to all members of the public and CBC staff.


Qualifications

  • FLEXIBILITY TO WORK VARIOUS SCHEDULES IS A MUST.

Requirements

  • Prefer Degree in biological science or equivalent experience.
  • Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid MO Class E Driver's License or KS Class C Driver's License with excellent driving history

  • Phlebotomy skills.

  • Ability to manage staff within attendance and performance guidelines.

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of donor criteria and the interview and blood collection procedures.
  • Knowledge of vein suitability.
  • Excellent knowledge of blood collection complications and care procedures to follow.
  • General knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Knowledge of budgeting procedures.
  • Understanding of FDA, AABB, CLIA and OSHA regulations.
