As a Security Guard - Armed Government Site in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. This armed and driving post requires you to remain visible, interact professionally with staff and visitors, and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support site protocols.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification in accordance with established procedures for government facilities.
  • Assist with reporting and documenting security-related incidents, observations, and activities.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required by protocols or during critical incidents.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and promptly communicate any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A current armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • At least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
