This IT Data Analyst should have a background in Business, Systems, and Data Analysis, with strong exposure to healthcare finance concepts. The role involves working closely with product owners and business stakeholders to understand business requests, analyze requirements and data, and translate those needs into welldefined user stories and data outcomes.
This position combines business process knowledge, healthcare finance domain understanding, and data expertise with information technology skills to enable and improve business capabilities. The analyst will support financial data domains such as billing, invoicing, payments, reconciliation, and general ledger (GL) integrations, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and business alignment.
Responsibilities include performing detailed data requirements analysis, documenting processes, supporting data validation and reconciliation, and participating in user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role, the candidate should demonstrate strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and the ability to clearly explain complex data and financial concepts to nontechnical users. Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Accountabilities


  • Evaluate business and financial processes, anticipate requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and develop datadriven solutions using data analysis and profiling techniques
  • Gather and validate requirements from finance, operations, and IT stakeholders for financial reporting, billing, invoicing, payment, and reconciliation data
  • Analyze and document endtoend financial data flows, including source systems, transformations, and downstream reporting or GL integrations
  • Establish accurate business and financial data definitions; produce audienceappropriate data models aligned to healthcare finance concepts
  • Coordinate with developers, ETL teams, QA analysts, and DBAs to ensure financial data is accurately transformed, reconciled, and reported
  • Understand and document functional and nonfunctional requirements impacting financial data design, including auditability, traceability, and data quality
  • Decompose product features and finance initiatives into clear, testable user stories
  • Actively participate as a core member of scrum teams delivering finance and data modernization initiatives
  • Work with ETL and QA teams to validate financial data accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation across systems
  • Create and maintain sourcetotarget mappings, including mappings between operational systems, finance platforms, and data warehouses
  • Support financial data reconciliation, variance analysis, and rootcause investigation
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders
  • Document requirements, data mappings, business rules, and assumptions clearly and consistently
  • Serve as a liaison between finance, business, and technical teams
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to junior analysts
  • Ensure solutions meet business, finance, regulatory, and reporting needs
  • Support project planning, prioritization, and delivery aligned to business value


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software development and database applications, with a strong focus on data analysis, integration, and modeling
  • Demonstrated experience translating business and financial requirements into data solutions


Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong SQL and query tool proficiency
  • 3+ years of experience using ERwin or similar data modeling tools
  • Experience in the healthcare payer domain
  • Working knowledge of healthcare finance concepts, such as:


    • Billing and invoicing
    • Payments and remittance
    • Financial reconciliation
    • General Ledger (GL) integrations


  • Experience with data analysis, data profiling, mapping, and data quality techniques
  • Understanding of logical, physical, dimensional, and relational data models
  • Experience working with data warehouses and data marts
  • Exposure to ETL, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence platforms

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, at our Minnetonka, MN office on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $100,300 - $172,000. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $100,300 - $150,465. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
