Principal ETRM DeveloperJob Function Summary Application Development Provides application software development services. Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Codes, tests, debugs and documents software applications. Analyzes requirements and tests and integrates application components. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented. Key Job Information Principal Application Developer 6016 Grade 9 Master Professional Requires a recognized expert within the company. Anticipates internal and or external business challenges, vendor and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Progression to this level is restricted on the basis of business requirements. Key Responsibilities Programming/Software Development (PROG) Sets local or team-based standards for programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines, and the selection of appropriate development methods. Advises on application of standards and methods and ensures compliance. Takes technical responsibility for all stages and/or iterations in a software development project, providing method-specific technical advice and guidance to project stakeholders. Assigns work packages, monitors performance and manages change control dynamically to optimize productivity. Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required. Application Support (ASUP) Drafts and maintains procedures and documentation for applications support. Manages application enhancements to improve business performance. Advises on application security, licensing, upgrades, backups and disaster-recovery needs. Ensures that all requests for support are dealt with according to set standards and procedures. Incident Management (USUP) Ensures that incidents are handled according to agreed procedures. Investigates escalated incidents to responsible service owners and seeks resolution. Facilitates recovery following resolution of incidents. Ensures that resolved incidents are properly documented and closed. Analyzes causes of incidents and informs service owners in order to minimize probability of recurrence and contribute to service improvement. Analyzes metrics and reports on performance of incident-management process. Problem Management (PBMG) Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s). Enablesdevelopment of problem solutions. Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Analyzes patterns and trends. Systems Design (DESN) Controls system design practice within an enterprise or industry architecture. Influences industry-based models for the development of new technology applications. Develops effective implementation and procurement strategies consistent with business needs. Ensures adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security). Systems Integration (SINT) Establishes standards and procedures across the IT service lifecycle (including the development lifecycle) in the areas of systems integration and testing and ensures that practitioners adhere to them. Manages resources to ensure that the systems integration function operates effectively. Education/Experience/Certifications Education Requires a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management or other related field or equivalent experience. Experience Typically 10 or more years in related field. Environment: Office/Hybrid/Travel within PGE Service Territory PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite, however, these arrangements may need to change due to business needs or changes in responsibility. For this position, PGE will consider applicants who will work remotely or offsite with only occasional presence required in Portland, Oregon. We will consider a fully remote individual in the following states only: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. Compensation Range: $130,900.00 - $243,100.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
