Job Description

Primary Function: Product / Process Auditing

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

.

  • Visually inspect parts at pre-determined points of the manufacturing process in accordance with customer and industry requirements
  • Perform process audits to against process techniques, procedures and industry standards.
  • Prepare reports based on observations during inspections and audits.
  • Follow up on corrective actions based on observations during inspections and audits.
  • Provide feedback to operators.
  • Interface with Training Coordinator to suggest improvements to processes.
  • Periodically provide training to operators with the assistance of the Training Coordinator.
  • Assist in updating quality system and department procedures.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Quality for improvements to part techniques.
  • Certify as an internal auditor through continuous training and exams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Familiar with blueprint and specification requirements.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Able to read and interpret customer and industry specifications.
  • Able to work in a production environment.
  • Able to read and comprehend English.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
  • Near vision requirement is Jaeger J1 in on eye, at no less than 12 inches; or equivalent, or Jaeger J2 in one eye, at no less than 16 inches. Corrected or uncorrected. Color perception required each year; Standard used: Keystone VS11 (Red-Green and Blue Violet) or Ishihara.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comply with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company's attendance policy.

Normal Working Conditions

  • Work under indirect supervision following established practices and clear-cut policies in the performance of the majority of duties. Make decisions when general instructions, established methods and clearly defined precedents indicate action to be taken, but refers unusual problems to superiors.
  • Occasional work required near moving mechanical parts, in areas with fumes and/or airborne particles, and areas with loud noise.
