Description

The Systems/Network Engineer role is responsible for designing solutions to Talogy's IT infrastructure systems that best protect the security and integrity of Talogy and our client data. The person in this role works on strengthening Talogy's systems and ensuring solutions are proactively monitored and scanned for vulnerabilities. They also ensure any systems issues are rapidly resolved in order to prevent or minimise disruption to the business operations of Talogy or our clients. The person in this role ensures appropriate security and encryption methods are configured and maintained at all times to protect the integrity of Talogy and client data during transit. The role also requires proactively monitoring network and internet connectivity and rapidly investigating to resolution any issues or flaws encountered, in order to prevent or minimise disruption to the business operations of Talogy or its clients.



Core Skills and Responsibilities

The daily impact of this role is characterized by (though not limited to) the following core skills and tasks:



  • Design, install, configure, maintain, and monitor infrastructure hardware and software, including physical servers, SANs, VM solutions, blades, disaster recovery, etc. Operate large, complex network infrastructure for Talogy's global business, including both cloud and on-premises solutions
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with Applications, Network, Server, Security, and Hardware environments
  • Working with the global infrastructure team to implement large-scale solutions across an international organisation.
  • Configuring and supporting the domain and AD infrastructure, and enterprise applications
  • Working with the Systems Administrator team to ensure server infrastructure is kept secure, patched, and adequately maintained at all times.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date infrastructure documentation.
  • Reviewing long term trends and identifying future capacity or performance issues in order to recommend and take appropriate preventative action. Looking for proactive opportunities to resolve issues before they impact IT systems and services.
  • Investigating and recommending technical solutions to meet changing business needs.
  • Create documentation, including design, implementation, and process documents.
  • Provide input into the company's network strategy for the direction and implementation of future network technology and network-related technical standards.


Background Requirements and Preferred Experience

The following qualifications and experiences are considered foundational requirements for this role:



  • Strong experience in System Admin / System Engineer roles.
  • An in-depth understanding of Microsoft operating systems, including all versions of Windows Server from 2025 to 2008, Windows 11 desktop.
  • Experience installing and administering Linux (Rocky, CentOS, RHEL, or Ubuntu).
  • Detailed knowledge of core server technologies and domain configuration and management, including DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, SMTP, and SSL.
  • Experience in Domain Trusts, Active Directory Federation.
  • Good understanding of SAN architecture and implementation
  • Experience in managing remote infrastructure across multiple time zones.
  • Detailed understanding of VMWare and SAN technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office 365 security/migration/integration.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining VOIP phone systems
  • Expertise in SQL, endpoint management systems (e.g. SCCM, Ivanti, etc.), CRM, and O365.
  • A working understanding of network topologies such as VLANs, IPs, subnets, and routing.
  • Good understanding of Powershell / VBScripting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow a project from beginning to end while providing updates along the way, while prioritizing time and dealing with multiple projects.
  • Experience with load balancers (e.g., F5, Ideally, HAProxy)
  • IT network engineering experience is ideal, plus CCNA / CCNP qualified or in pursuant.
  • Experience in proactively maintaining a complex, multi-site network.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Nexus Switches, routers/switches, ASA firewalls, VPN.
  • A good understanding of VLANs, Ipsec tunnels, and other LAN topologies.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Federal security clearance
