GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr Planning Manager will lead strategic initiatives to define, plan, and implement lab manufacturing flows. Support new product/launch initiatives. Maintain and implement a clear roadmap to enhance, scale, and continuously develop existing programs. Organize several projects at once and influence cross-functional teams to complete tasks by set deadlines.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead process of creating new lab manufacturing flows such as requests to build redundancy in the network for versatility, new lab capacity, and other situations as required
  • Lead process of product expansions into labs
  • Support new product launches into the labs at the guidance of the new product development team
  • Lead implementation of key lab initiatives for supply chain
  • Organize and lead multiple steps required with cross-functional teams
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, Planning, Lab leaders, Finance to ensure multiple step processes are completed for each specific product or flow manufacturing set-up request
  • Provide SMEs sufficient information to identify solutions and constraints. Address in a timely manner to stay within deadlines
  • Identify roadblocks in process and balance requests to ensure timely implementation
  • Follow process after implementation to ensure the outcomes are as expected and troubleshoot unexpected results
  • Suggest and create improvements and process efficiencies when identified
  • Create SOPs to standarize new processes as defined
  • Report on project progress in a clear, consistent and concise manner
  • Communicate effectively with teams to escalate any issue affecting development
  • Develop an understanding of when items need to be escalated to complete deadlines
  • Ensure knowledge transfer across the organization promoting a virtuous improvement cycle
  • Able to manage several projects at once and influence others from different functional areas
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically through various unanticipated results



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • BA/BS or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Experience in the optical industry highly regarded
  • Some supply chain, operations/manufacturing background



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and professionally in verbal and written form to all management levels
  • Knowledge of IT Systems, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain Management


  • Ability to influence others from different functional areas and levels within and outside the organization
  • Self-motivated with ability to multi-task on a
