The responsibility of the Laboratory Technician is to conduct routine testing on water and other samples in support of Kurita America's customers and field sales force. The Laboratory Service Technician will provide support to more senior analytical services technicians.

Compensation: $20.50/hour

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN



Responsibilities

    Log and prepare samples for analysis.
  • Conduct routine testing such as pH, conductivity, hardness, and other ions on water and other samples as well as prepare samples for advanced analysis by senior laboratory associates.
  • Calibrate equipment, load & monitor automated laboratory instruments, make observations, record data, and interpret test results.
  • Perform and report corrosion coupon analysis.
  • General lab duties include: cleaning of glassware, prep and shipping of samples, and organizing, pouring, and labeling reagent chemicals.
  • Accurately compile data, organize information, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry degree or related field preferred
  • 0-1 years' experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Hard worker, ability to multitask, able to function in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and laboratory standard operating procedures.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and be a strong team player.
  • Able to work efficiently, complete work on time, and maintain a clean work environment.

Physical and Mental requirements:

  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
  • Required to stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Using hands and fingers to grasp, move, and assemble objects and control testing equipment
