We are excited to bring together two of our most beloved restaurant brands under one roof, Applebee's and IHOP.

The Franchise Business Consultant will serve as the primary link between Applebee's and IHOP and the franchise community with broad accountability to each constituency. This role applies leadership, influence, and functional expertise to create meaningful, productive partnerships with each assigned franchise point of contact.

Through these partnerships, they will provide analysis, recommendations, counsel, coaching, and assistance to the franchise owners / operators to impact and improve the sales, traffic, and operating standards of the business.

They will leverage relationships to ensure the achievement of the short and long-term goals of Applebee's and IHOP and its shareholders. They must develop and maintain a strong sense of ownership of their assigned territory and provide leadership and constant protection of the Applebee's and IHOP Brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Applebee's & IHOP brand purpose, strategy, and culture while advocating for the guest experience
  • Coach managers and operations leadership in solving guest relations matters and concerns
  • Provide training and resources to managers to ensure complete guest satisfaction
  • Ensure operations leadership adheres to Applebee's and IHOP brand standards, systems, policies and procedures
  • Utilize metrics to analyze issues/opportunities and provide recommendations/tactics on how to improve any deficient areas of the business
  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures, Operations Assessment Reports, Food Safety Evaluations and develop corrective action plans, milestones, and timetables where appropriate
  • Provide coaching to managers on inventory control, local store marketing, on premise and off premise order production and delivery in support of sales growth and the strategic plan
  • Remain actively involved with any restaurant or franchise group that routinely delivers a customer experience inconsistent with the Applebee's and IHOP vision and brand standards, supporting the definition and execution of a work plan to improve and ensure brand standards compliance
  • Gain knowledge and proficiency in Applebee's and IHOP operational tools, standards, and systems
  • Actively share/assist in adopting best practices
  • Schedule built following Rules of Engagement travel expected (flights and auto) based upon geographic responsibilities to be assigned by Director, Operations.
  • Manage individual T&E budget
  • Target salary range $105k-$120k depending on experience

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years in a field operations role within the food service industry or comparable multi-unit retail industry
  • Strong operational experience & proven performance in driving restaurant operational standards and compliance
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills and building relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to attend initial training onsite (first six weeks)
  • May require up to 80% travel
