What to Expect

The Manager, Process Engineering will be responsible for design and execution of material flow, analyzing and optimizing production rates, warehouse flow layouts, and processes related to launch of all new production facilities for all Tesla fulfillment facilities. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual who can create systematic workflows to unlock efficient material flows, drive business processes, high throughput capabilities and operating models throughout our organization. This person is responsible for supporting all physical engineering needs of the Production Control team, including designing material flow aspects for all sequences of the fulfillment process including kitting, with solutions to safety and ergonomic hazards. Successful members of the team will be highly proactive and self-sufficient in pursuing improvement projects, be able to multitask and refocus efforts immediately to meet constantly shifting demands in a fast- paced environment and have exceptional organizational skills to coordinate changes with all affected teams.


What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams like Process Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain teams, Fulfillment Operations, IT Systems, Finance Developers, and Material Planning to prioritize and maximize operational efficiency of Production Control Operations team
  • Design and optimize facility layouts by analyzing bottlenecks and buffer sizes using process modeling
  • Develop the KPI's for measuring team Performance and improvement
  • Lead and own PFEP standardization and adoption of processes through the entire value stream of material flow
  • Develop business cases for improvement projects such as material handling - touch reduction, automation support etc., with a focus on workforce planning and management
  • Create documentation for training materials such as job cards, standard work, and standard operating procedure
  • Develop robust and clear data collection, visualization, and analysis tools. Enable data driven operational and financial decisions through predictive insights

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and 10+ years of experience in managing supply chain operations, logistics, or manufacturing or equivalent experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly. Able to utilize structured problem-solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W) or Eight Disciplines (8D). Able to resolve high level performance issues into addressable actions
  • Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities, competing priorities and challenges
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or other analytical tools for data mining and analysis
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar 2D CAD software
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to drive improvements to critical KPIs: safety, quality, output, and cost. Establish and monitor SPC for all critical process parameters, then analyze, develop, process, and implement Engineering Change Orders
  • Previous World Class Supply Chain or Manufacturing experience
