University Development's purpose is to support the mission of the university by raising private resources to enhance financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities. University Development provides leadership and centralized services to all development offices throughout the University, serving as a focal point for annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; constituent programs; corporate and foundation relations; donor relations; gift planning; gift services; industry relations; marketing/communications; parents giving; principal gifts; prospect management, research and analytics; regional programs; scholarships and student aid; talent management; university events; and volunteer engagement.

Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst will provide a variety of information technology services in support of Advancement operations at UNC-CH. As a member of the Information Systems team within University Advancement, this position will administer the reporting and data services needs in support of University Advancement, as well as the schools, units and foundations throughout UNC-CH.

This is a proactive applications analyst position that will develop strong partnerships with customers to fully understand their business processes and requirements. With an emphasis on customer service, this position will provide technical and functional support of the enterprise-wide advancement application, associated peripheral applications, along with desktop software tools to help organizations meet their goals.

The Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst will serve as first-line support to our customers while responding to report, data and training requests. It will entail a detailed analysis of the requirements in addition to the delivery of creative solutions, including but not limited to, database modifications, customized reports, data extracts, and data transformations. A high-level of quality control is necessary to ensure the accuracy of said reports and data extracts.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's and 1-2 years' experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Demonstrated project management skills and capable of administering multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to develop and apply quality assurance processes to ensure the accurateness of delivered reports and data extracts supplied to user-community and external agencies.

Proficient in the use of software tools with emphasis on SSRS, Power BI, Report Builder, Visual Studio. The ability to link to relational databases; build queries; transform data; create macros, pivot tables, charts and reports.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels within the organization.

A proven ability and willingness to learn new technologies in order to support a technically-mixed and changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of Alumni and Development operations, preferably in a large university.

Familiarity with GenAI, Chatbots, LLMS and Machine Learning.
