Printed Circuit Board Layout Designer

Acara Solution is looking for a Printed Circuit Board Layout Designer for our client in Bloomington, MN.

• You will perform detailed layout design and documentation of printed circuit boards under direction from a team of electrical and mechanical engineers
• You will work from schematics, part lists, and basic description of the board function, constraints, configuration, and arrangement as defined by the team of electrical and mechanical engineers
• You will use the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition toolset, including Layout, Valor, DRC Hazard Checker, Constraint Editor/Constraint Manager (CES), Drawing Editor, and other related tools
• You will create electronic library symbols, geometry, footprints.
• You will run Valor and DRC Hazard checks to ensure your work is error-free and the design will meet expectations
• You will check drawings against the project inputs for correctness and conformance to standard engineering drafting practices and standards

Required Skills:

• Associate Degree
• Minimum 5 years of designing HDI printed circuit/wiring boards for high-speed designs.

Preferred Skills:

• Ideal candidates demonstrate a passion for innovation, teamwork, and a strong sense of ownership.
• Well versed in MIL and IPC Standards
• Familiar with the current Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools including Xpedition Design and Layout, Valor (artwork checking tool), Constraint Editor/Constraint Manager (CES), and Drawing Editor.
