 Description Leidos is seeking a summer 2026 intern with a System Engineering background to join our team in support of the SMIT contract, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support Linux, Windows, and database solutions and analysis for the NMCI network. Primary Responsibilities: Work with a geographically distributed remote team, closely coordinating with systems engineers to define and develop requirements, architecture/design, and testing artifacts using No Magic's Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM) and suite. Assist in the design and development of SysML diagrams including block definition diagrams, internal block diagrams, activity diagrams, and an array of matrices and tables. Support informal and formal peer-reviews. Collaborate and coordinate with management and other engineering disciplines. Identify opportunities for improvement, streamline existing processes, and support implementations of new workflows. Gather insight and analyze model elements and patterns to assist in the development of strategies to enhance team and model productivity. Participate in meetings and sessions to foster continuous improvement in model deliverables. Learn and apply best practices in MBSE methodologies.
