This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Lightwave Avenue 3 - 5 days onsite and remote.

DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director of Experience Operations, the Well-being Program Manager is responsible for leading a variety of initiatives, projects, and programs that advance the overall well-being of the UC San Diego Health workforce. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating program elements of the UC San Diego Health Team Member Well-being Program.

This role involves assessing organizational and strategic issues related to workforce well-being and contributes to efforts that promote culture change and improve institutional performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs to promote team member well-being, creating a supportive and healthy workplace culture.
  • Support team member well-being survey efforts including but not limited to: partnering with vendor on survey deployment, coordinating survey campaign and communications implementation, monitoring and resolving issues, analyzing/ synthesizing data, and presenting to audiences.
  • Work with leaders to develop and support the implementation of organizational and departmental well-being improvements.
  • Conduct routine local team member well-being needs assessments and foster implementation of action plans to address needs.
  • Measure effectiveness of well-being programs and adjust programming as needed.
  • Develop and present ad-hoc, quarterly and annual program reports which include key program metrics including participation rates and the program impact on workforce well-being.
  • Understand business needs and ensure that systems, both technical and non-technical, can support those needs.
  • Promote Employee Assistance Program and act as liaison with vendor for the organization.
  • Ensure industry best practices and recommendations are included in program initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of managing employee health and wellbeing programs, employee engagement initiatives, culture change or related experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in organizational design, human resources, business administration, or related area, PLUS five (5) years of related employee engagement experience, including well-being survey design and action plan implementation. Experience should be in medium to large complex organization with workforce of 10,000+.

  • Thorough knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, and models to assess, design, and implement customized, strategic organization interventions.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and implementation skills.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Possesses strong consulting, relationship building, and strategic thinking skills. Demonstrates skill consulting to managers and groups at all levels. Ability to coach, facilitate and influence people at all levels.

  • Knowledge of the consulting process to effectively lead engagements from inception to conclusion.

  • Ability to persuade through both logic and appeal to positive motivations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including experience working directly with senior and executive leaders.

  • Demonstrates leadership in managing direct reports, including performance evaluations, goal setting and day-to-day oversight.

  • Successfully implemented a team member well-being survey and developed actionable plans based on findings within the past 3 years.

  • An advanced degree such as MPA, MPH, MBA, MSW, or MEd.

  • Certified Health Promotion Specialist/Certified Health Education Specialist.

  • Experience in complex, academic healthcare organization with 10,000+ member workforce.

  • Extensive experience in writing and securing grants from federal, state, public and private funding sources to support well-being and health promotion programs.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
