Job Description - Fleet Data Analyst

Position Description

This position is responsible for performing research and analytical work for Fleet Management, particularly in the areas of cost management, vehicle replacement schedules, fleet standards, fleet acquisitions, telematics, and performance benchmarking. The purpose of this position is to do special studies, report development and complex office tasks to implement quality service and operational improvements surrounding fleet operations.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Designs and analyzes systems, processes, forms and work measurements to effect methods of improvement, work simplification efficiency, improvement of manual processing, or for adaption to new technology.
  • Studies and prepares written recommendations for change and/or improvements of fleet operations based on operational problems such as: equipment utilization, management reporting, staffing patterns, and vendor performance.
  • Conducts fleet operation and maintenance cost studies to identify units requiring repair or replacement.
  • Researches and projects future equipment replacement trends, requirements, and criteria based on historical trends and data analysis.
  • Reviews output reports and recommends appropriate follow-up actions related to Fleet Operations from the Fleet Management Software System, analyze for patterns and trends, prepares reports and graphs depicting results of these analyses.
  • Analyzes the utilization of fleet units and makes recommendations for discontinuance and reassignment of units of seldom used equipment.
  • Performs monthly performance benchmarking analysis to key performance indicators
  • Responsible for internal fuel data entry, exception reporting, and analysis
  • Generates routine dashboards, including data related to fuel and mileage, work order activity, and O&M and Capital budgets.
  • Inputs work order cost and other relevant data into Fleet Focus, ensuring data accuracy
  • Provides fleet electrification support, including data gathering, analysis, and reporting of electric vehicles.
  • Functions as subject-matter-expert between Fleet Management software and application users and technology providers (internal and external) to implement and maintain reliable solutions.
  • Monitors system, data, and process errors, and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
(Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a shop environment
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Fleet Management Software systems and applications; equipment management information and other data collection and reporting systems applications
  • Ability to determine needs, gather, analyze, evaluate and present data on divisional functions and operations
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written and proficiency in conducting productive meetings.
  • Effective critical listening, analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Effective time management with demonstrated ability to multitask priorities and deliver assignments on schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively participate in a team project to achieve required functionality within budget and timeframe
  • Principles of work measurement and activity analysis as they pertain to fleet management and maintenance
  • Knowledge of research methods, techniques and reporting methods
  • Ability to employ work measurement techniques, conduct studies, and research with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in a related business area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the business area of support.
  • Considerable experience in organizational/departmental methods analysis, statistical analysis and productivity work measurement studies
  • Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines involving complex reporting and recommendations, along with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate analytical and innovation skills with supervision.

Pay Rate: Salary determined based on candidates experience and qualifications.
